Using the Archives and Special Collections
Many requests can be answered with a phone call, fax or email and would not require an in-person visit. A phone call prior to visiting will ensure that someone will be available to help you when you arrive, and give the archivist an opportunity to determine if material relevant to your research is available and adequate for a visit.

Many of our items are rare and fragile and to preserve them we have a few rules regarding their use.

  • All researchers must leave a photo ID with the Archives staff while using materials.
  • Materials may only be photocopied by a staff member. We reserve the right to refuse to copy something if we feel it will damage the item in any way, or if it will violate U.S. Copyright Law.
  • Permission to publish or reproduce materials from the Archives & Special Collections must be applied for separately.
