Portrait of Richard Charles de Bodo, MD, (1896-1965). Dr. De Bodo was born and educated in Hungary. He is known for his studies of the pharmacology of morphine, cardiac drugs, hormonal regulation of carbohydrate metabolism, and the effects of insulin and growth hormone on carbohydrate and fat metabolism.

Dr. De Bodo taught at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College as Assistant Professor of Pharmacology (1929-1934) and Associate Professor of Pharmacology (1934-1953). He then served as Professor of Pharmacology at the New York University College of Medicine from 1953 to 1965, and also served as Acting Chairman of the Department of Pharmacology in 1952 and from 1961 to 1963.
