Dr. Hyman received his MD from New York University School of Medicine in 1941. The inscription on the plaque of the painting reads, “In fond memory of Richard M. Hyman, MD, 1915-1967, President, Centennial Class of 1941. Presented by his classmates.”

Portrait of Luther Emmett Holt, Jr., MD (1895-1974). Dr. Holt taught at the New York University College of Medicine as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics from 1944 to 1960, and at the New York University School of Medicine as Professor of Pediatrics from 1960 to 1972. Acclaimed for his international pediatric work improving nutrition and childcare, Dr. Holt founded the Society for Pediatric Research.
