John Elmer Weeks

Portrait of John Elmer Weeks, MD (1853-1949). Dr. Weeks taught at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College of New York University as a Lecturer and later Clinical Professor of Professor of Ophthalmology and Otology. He served as the head of the Department of Ophthalmology from 1901 to 1921.

John Hinchman Stokes

A major figure in the fields of dermatology and syphilology, Dr. Stokes directed the United States Public Health Services’ Institute for the Study of Venereal Diseases (1937-1953), chaired the Committee on Research in Syphilis (1928), served as a consultant to the Surgeon General of the Army and the Secretary of War during World War II, and served as the American representative to the League of Nations as an expert in syphilis (1928-1955).

Dr. Weschler served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medical and Clinical Psychology at New York University College of Medicine from 1941 to 1947 and Associate Clinical Professor of Medical and Clinical Psychology from 1947 to 1955. He later served as Clinical Professor of Clinical Psychology (1955-1971), Professor of Psychology (1971-1975), and Professor Emeritus of Clinical Psychology (1975-1981) at the New York University School of Medicine.

William Emory Studdiford

Portrait of William Emory Studdiford, MD (1867-1925). Dr. Studdiford received his MD from Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1891. He taught as an Adjunct Professor of Gynecology at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College from 1914 to 1919 and held the position of Chief of Clinic in the Department of Gynecology. Studdiford was the father of Dr. William E. Studdiford, Jr., Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University College of Medicine and director of Bellevue Hospital’s obstetrical and gynecological service for 19 years.
