The House Staff of 1890, seated on the steps of the old Bellevue Administration Building. According to Robert Carlisle's history of Bellevue (An Account of Bellevue Hospital), the House Staff of 1890 (two groups, each for six months) included Group I - Edwin K. Losee, Samuel Cummings, David H. McAlpin, Jr., James H. McIntosh, William N. MacArtney, Royal W. Pinney, William B. Arnold, Theodore Dunham and Group II - Stewart Paton, Marcos M. Rodriguez, Austin Flint, Jr., W. Evelyn Porter, Herbert L. Constable, Walter C. Wood, George D. Stewart, and Morton R. Peck. There are clearly more than 16 men in the photo, but the additional names and roles are unknown.
