A print of an engraving of the front entrance to the Carnegie Laboratory, originally part of the Bellevue Hospital Medical College, opened in 1884. The Carnegie Laboratory was the first lab devoted to pathology and bacteriology.

According to Robert Carlisle's history of Bellevue, An Account of Bellevue Hospital, the House Staff of 1890 (two groups, each for six months) included Group I - Edwin K. Losee, Samuel Cummings, David H. McAlpin, Jr., James H. McIntosh, William N. MacArtney, Royal W. Pinney, William B. Arnold, Theodore Dunham; and Group II - Stewart Paton, Marcos M. Rodriguez, Austin Flint, Jr., W. Evelyn Porter, Herbert L. Constable, Walter C. Wood, George D. Stewart, and Morton R. Peck. There are more than 16 men in the photo, but their additional names and roles are unknown.

Portrait of George David Stewart, MD. Dr. Stewart received his MD from Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1889. He taught at Bellevue Hospital Medical College as an Adjunct Lecturer of Anatomy (1895-1896), Adjunct Professor of Anatomy (1896-1897), Professor of Anatomy, and Professor of Clinical Surgery.
