Cabinet card portrait of Samuel Sherwell, MD (1841-1927). Dr. Sherwell received his MD from Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1868. He served as a Professor of Dermatology at Long Island Hospital Medical College and was one of the founding members of the American Dermatological Association.

Portrait of Paul Ferdinand Schilder, MD (1886-1940). Dr. Schilder was born in Vienna and received his MD from the Medical University of Vienna in 1909. A prominent Austrian psychiatrist, he emigrated to the United States in 1929. From 1930 to his death in 1940, he served as medical director of the psychiatric division of Bellevue Hospital and research professor of psychiatry at New York University College of Medicine.

Signed portrait of Warren N. Richter, MD, seated at a desk with a microscope. The inscription reads, “With best regards, Warren N. Richter.”

Portrait of Carl Julius Rothberger, MD (1871-1945). The photograph is signed, with a note in German to Dr. Emmanuel Libman dated December 12, 1932. Dr. Rothberger became Professor of General and Experimental Pathology at the University of Vienna in 1904, and held the position of deputy head of the Institute of General and Experimental Pathology from 1924 until he was forcibly retired by the Nazi government in 1936.

Signed portrait of Roman Reszczyński, MD, inscribed "To my much esteemed colleague Dr. Howard Fox in remembrance of the days spent together in Budapest. Roman Reszczyński [illegible].”

Carte de visite portrait of Alfred Charles Post, MD (1806-1886). Dr. Post taught at University Medical College as Professor of Anatomy beginning in 1838, and then as Professor of Professor of Principles, Practices & Operations of Surgery from 1851 to 1875. He later served as Professor Emeritus of Clinical Surgery.

Signed portrait of the Scottish dermatologist John James Pringle, MD (1855-1922). Inscription reads "Yrs v. sincerely, J. J. Pringle."

Photographic reproduction of a painting of Harold Dickinson Senior, MD (1870-1938), by artist George R. Boynton. The photograph is inscribed, “To John Wyckoff with the affectionate regards of H. D. Senior.” Dr. Senior served as Professor of Anatomy at New York University College of Medicine from 1910 until his death in 1938.

Carte de visite portrait of Beverley Robinson, MD (1844-1924). Dr. Robinson taught at Bellevue Hopsital Medical College as a clinical lecturer on Heart, Lungs, and Throat (1877-1882) and a Clinical Professor of Medicine (1882 to 1898). In 1989 he became Clinical Professor of Medicine at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College.
