Arpad Geyza Gerster

Portrait of Arpad Geyza Gerster, MD (1848-1923). Dr. Gerster was born in Hungary and received his medical degree from the University of Vienna in 1872. He emigrated to the United States where he eventually became House Surgeon at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Gerster published The Rules of Aseptic and Antiseptic Surgery, the first book on antiseptic surgical methods in the United States, in 1888.

Photograph of Harry Halprin, MD. Dr. Halprin received his MD from University & Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1923. He served as the vice-chairman of the New Jersey Committee of New York University College of Medicine Alumni.

Jerome Gross

Portrait of Jerome Gross, MD. Dr. Gross received his MD from New York University College of Medicine in 1943. He later became Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and received the Medical Alumni Achievement Award on Alumni Day, March 1, 1975.

David H. Goldstein

Portrait of David H. Goldstein, MD (1908-1978). Dr. Goldstein taught at the New York University College of Medicine and later School of Medicine from 1936 to 1974 in the fields of Preventive Medicine, Industrial Medicine, and Environmental Medicine. He was the acting director for the Department of Environmental Medicine and the Institute of Environmental Medicine from 1966 to 1967.

Philippe Charles Ernest Gaucher

Gaucher, Mai 1916.” Dr. Gaucher was a French dermatologist, known for his identification and description of the genetic disorder now known as Gaucher’s disease. A teacher, writer, and researcher specializing in venereal disease, he also received the Legion of Honour for his medical service during World War I.

Horace Hoskins Fellow in Comparative Pathology (1939-1941), Assistant Professor of Pathology (1944-1949), Associate Professor of Pathology (1949-1954), and Professor of Pathology (1954-1957).

Ludwig Eichna

Dr. Eichna taught at the New York University College of Medicine as an Instructor in Medicine (1940-1941), Assistant Professor of Medicine (1941-1946), Associate Professor of Medicine (1946-1957), and Professor of Medicine (1957-1960). He then went on to serve as chairman of the Department of Medicine at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center from 1960 to 1974.

Menas S. Gregory

Dr. Gregory taught at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College as Professor of Medical Diseases (1918-1924) and Professor of Psychiatry (1924-1937) before becoming Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at New York University College of Medicine (1937-1941).
