Portrait of Howard Fox, MD (1873-1954). Dr. Fox taught at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College from 1925 to 1938 as Professor of Dermatology and Syphilology, after which he held the position of Professor Emeritus from 1948 to 1954.

Photograph of Henry Dwight Chapin, MD (1857-1942). An important figure in the field of pediatric medicine, Dr. Chapin served as Assistant to the Chair of Diseases of Children at Bellevue Hospital Medical College from 1882 to 1888.

Photograph of Charles Dwight Freeman, MD (1853-1907), in wool coat and cap, inscribed “To Dr. Howard Fox, from Chas D. Freeman, St. Paul, Minn.” Dr. Freeman received his MD from Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1884.

Portrait of Edward Kellog Dunham, MD (1860-1922). Dr. Dunham taught at Bellevue Hospital Medical College as an Instructor in the Carnegie Laboratories from 1888 to 1893 and Professor of Bacteriology, General Pathology and Hygiene from 1892 to 1898. He then held the role of Professor of Pathology at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College from 1898 to 1907. From 1908 to 1922, Dr. Dunham was Emeritus Professor of Pathology.

Photograph of John Francis Daly, MD (1912-1998), from p. 60 of the 1954 NYU Medical Violet yearbook. Dr. Daly taught in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the New York University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor (1945-1947), Associate Professor (1947-1949), Professor (1949-1980), Adjunct Professor (1980-1986), and Professor Emeritus (1986-1998). He also served as Chairman of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology from 1947 to 1980.

Photograph of an illustrated portrait of Charles Loomis Dana, MD (1852-1935). Dr. Dana held the position of Professor of Diseases of the Nervous System at Bellevue Hospital Medical College from 1897 to 1898.

Portrait of May Edward Chinn, MD (1896-1980), print made from an image in the 1926 Medical Violet yearbook. Dr. Chinn received her MD from University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1926. She was the first Black woman graduate of University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College. Dr. Chinn went on to have an important role as a cancer researcher, working for the Strang Clinic at the New York Infirmary from 1944 to 1974. She was later awarded honorary Doctor of Science degrees from both Columbia University and New York University (1980).

Portrait of Arthur Gerard DeVoe, MD. Dr. DeVoe served as Professor of Ophthalmology and Chairman of the Department at New York University College of Medicine from 1950 to 1959.

Carte de visite portrait of William Darling, MD (1802-1884). Dr. Darling received his MD from University Medical College in 1842. He taught at University Medical College as a Demonstrator of Anatomy (1845-1853), a University Lecturer in Anatomy (1851-1852), and a Professor of Anatomy (1866-1884). He also taught at Bellevue Hospital Medical College as a Professor of Anatomy from 1872 to 1884.
