Herman M. Biggs (1859-1923) was born in Trumansburg, N.Y. Graduated from Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1883, and interned at Bellevue Hospital from 1883-1884. Received world-wide recognition for his contributions to public health. Established the New York City Board of Health Laboratory, introduced diphtheria antitoxin and programs in child health.
