Note
Julie Kientz Elting, RN: "When I graduated with my BSN, Dr. Jean Watson was the Dean of the CU School of Nursing and she pinned me. I still have that picture my mom took. Thirty years later in Hawaii, where I lived, Dr. Watson was presenting at a small conference based on her Theory of Human Caring. At the break I shared the pinning story with her and she was genuinely moved by our connection. It was quite special to meet again. I teach nursing theory and research now and share this story and the pictures with my students." Elting is a Nurse Faculty member.
Pin was photographed at the nursing pin event organized by the NYU Medical Archives at the 27th Annual Nursing Science Conference in 2024. Photo Credit: G. Barahona.
