The logo is surrounded by a gold laurel wreath symbolizing excellence. A delicate gold chain attached to the pin connects to a metallic object resembling a nurse's cap at the bottom.

Janet Raman, RN: "Bronx Community College nursing pin. Pinned by boyfriend at a party sponsored by SON in catering hall. When I was pinned in 1976 we were also provided with the fabric stripes (school colors) for our caps which we had worn plain while in clinicals. Worked as a staff nurse, with some other minor roles for 40 years, NP and Nurse Educator for 20 years."
