Portrait of Saul Joseph Farber, MD (1918-2006). Dr. Farber received his MD from New York University College of Medicine in 1942. He spent his career at the New York University College, and later School, of Medicine as a professor of Medicine from 1948 to 2000. Dr. Farber served as Acting Chairman of the Department of Medicine from 1962 to 1963, Acting Dean of the School of Medicine and Acting Deputy Director of Medical Center from 1963 to 1966, and Chairman of the Department of Medicine from 1966 to 2000. He also held the titled professorships of Nathan Friedman Professor of Medicine (1966-1975) and Frederick H. King Professor of Internal Medicine (1978-2000).

Mr. Clausman became the librarian of the New York University Medical Center in 1955 and in 1959 was appointed Library Curator until his retirement in 1986. Among his many accomplishments in the field of medical librarianship, he served as president of the Medical Library Association and spearheaded the transformation of the NYU Medical Library into an academic department with faculty status for librarians.

Richard Charles de Bodo

Portrait of Richard Charles de Bodo, MD, (1896-1965). Dr. De Bodo was born and educated in Hungary. He is known for his studies of the pharmacology of morphine, cardiac drugs, hormonal regulation of carbohydrate metabolism, and the effects of insulin and growth hormone on carbohydrate and fat metabolism.

Dr. De Bodo taught at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College as Assistant Professor of Pharmacology (1929-1934) and Associate Professor of Pharmacology (1934-1953). He then served as Professor of Pharmacology at the New York University College of Medicine from 1953 to 1965, and also served as Acting Chairman of the Department of Pharmacology in 1952 and from 1961 to 1963.
