Portrait of Harry Bakwin, MD (1894-1973). Dr. Bakwin taught at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College, later New York University College of Medicine, as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (1930-1940), Associate Professor of Pediatrics (1940-1950), and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics (1950-1974). Dr. Bakwin authored the widely regarded medical text, "Clinical Management of Behavior Disorders in Children," and coined the expression “tender loving care.”

Portrait of Anthony Bassler, MD (1874-1959). Dr. Bassler received his MD from Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1898. He served as Assistant to the Chair of Pediatrics at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College from 1899 to 1900.

Inscribed “With very best wishes from California, for my good friend Howard Fox, Harry Everett Alderson. 1930.” Dr. Alderson served as Professor of Dermatology and Syphilology and department chair at Stanford University Medical School from 1912 until his retirement in 1944.
