Portrait of Benjamin Fordyce Barker, MD (1818-1891). Dr. Barker taught at Bellevue Hospital Medical College from 1861 to 1890 as Professor of Obstetrics and Diseases of Women and Children (1861-1869), Professor of Clinical Midwifery (1869-1870), and Professor of Clinical Midwifery and Diseases of Women (1870-1890).

John C. A. Gerster

Photograph of Dr. John C. A. Gerster, name inscribed on mat. Graduated from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1905. Gerster was an Assistant Demonstrator in Operative Surgery at the University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College from 1910-1913, and a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the NYU College of Medicine from March 7, 1939 to August 31, 1950. He was associated with Lennox Hill Hospital from 1922-74, and died on May 24, 1974.
