Dr. Franz Torek (1861-1938) served as surgeon and adjunct professor of surgery at the New York Post Graduate Hospital from 1890 to 1915.

The notation on the back states that it is Thiersch's method of taking the grafts and the surgeon with the Razor is Theodore Dunham assisted by Franz Torek, surgeon to the Babies'Ward.

Portrait of Joseph Goldberger, MD (1874-1929) in military uniform. Dr Goldberger received his MD from Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1895. He is known for his discovery of the pellagra preventive factor.
