Harry Bakwin

Portrait of Harry Bakwin, MD (1894-1973). Dr. Bakwin taught at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College, later New York University College of Medicine, as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (1930-1940), Associate Professor of Pediatrics (1940-1950), and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics (1950-1974). Dr. Bakwin authored the widely regarded medical text, "Clinical Management of Behavior Disorders in Children," and coined the expression “tender loving care.”

Harry Everett Alderson

Signed portrait of Harry Everett Alderson, MD (1877-1952). Inscribed “With very best wishes from California, for my good friend Howard Fox, Harry Everett Alderson. 1930.” Dr. Alderson served as Professor of Dermatology and Syphilology and department chair at Stanford University Medical School from 1912 until his retirement in 1944.

William Smith Tillett

Portrait of William Smith Tillett, MD (1892-1974). Dr. Tillett taught at New York University School of Medicine from 1938 until his retirement in 1958, after which he became Professor Emeritus. He chaired the Department of Medicine from 1938 to 1958.
