Photograph of two doctors and a nurse in the Bellevue Hospital Laboratory. One doctor is seated in front of a microscope while the other is standing, selecting a bottle from a wall rack holding dozens of bottles. The nurse stands beside him.
A group of people are shown outdoors attending the cornerstone ceremonies for the Townsend Pavilion at Bellevue Hospital. The building behind them is the First Avenue and 26th Street building at Bellevue. The Townsend Pavilion was a gift from the philanthropist Adeline Townsend and was built for the treatment of women suffering from tumors. It was dedicated in April 1887.
