Diane Rita Maydick Youngberg, RN: "St. Clare's Hospital and Health Center School of Nursing awarded nurses the nursing pin which was a prestigious award given during a pinning ceremony after the first three semesters of school. Earning one's school of nursing pin and wearing it proudly is still a symbol of professional registered nursing education. Wearing my nursing school pin at my nursing school graduation in St. Patrick's Cathedral was an honor. While working as a Registered Nurse this a recognizable sign of where a nurse went to school. My career as a newly graduating nurse from St. Clare's Hospital and Health Center School of Nursing began at NYU Hospital in 1974. Throughout my career I have held many roles and positions, from novice to expert, in healthcare, life sciences, and academia. Further educational pursuits included baccalaureate (Hunter College), masters (Rutgers University), and research doctoral degrees (Columbia University). St. Clare's Hospital and Health Center School of Nursing was located in New York City, New York. The school closed in 1976." Youngberg is a Nurse Leader, Advanced Practice Nurse, and Clinical Nurse Specialist at NYU Langone Health.
