Photograph of Donal Sheehan, MD, wearing a lab coat. Dr. Sheehan taught at New York University Medical College from 1937 until his death, apart from a 1947-1948 term as general director of the Commonwealth Fund. He served as acting dean of the medical school for three years during World War II, as chairman of the Scientific Committee of the NYU-Bellevue Medical Center, and as director of the Medical Center from 1953-1955.
