Portrait of Osceola Currier McEwen, MD (1902-2003), better known as Currier McEwen. Dr. McEwen received his MD from University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1926. He taught at University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College as an Instructor in Medicine from 1932 to 1933, and at the NYU College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Medicine from 1933 to 1939. Dr. McEwen made major breakthroughs in the treatment of arthritis and rheumatism, clinical, pathologic, immunologic studies of rheumatic fever, systemic lupus erythematosus and various types of arthritis.
